Born in Germany, grew up in Istanbul Turkiye, Zulal embarked on a remarkable journey that ultimately led her to become the passionate chocolatier and pastry chef behind Zu-licious Cakes & Sweets.

Zulal’s path to the world of sweets took an unexpected turn after a life-altering bike riding accident. During her rehabilitation she took the opportunity to re-evaluate her life and decided to forego her corporate career to pursue  her passion for the art of chocolate and cake making. Determined to follow her dream she enrolled in a prestigious culinary school in Turkey, setting the stage for her transformation into a remarkable pastry chef.

Her culinary voyage extended across continents. Zulal honed her craft in renowned culinary destinations including Istanbul, France, Belgium and Melbourne. Along the way she underwent rigorous training in the delicate art of chocolate-making, perfecting her skills and mastering the intricacies of this beloved confection.

Zulal’s culinary expertise and dedication earned her the esteemed position of Head Pastry Chef at Marriott Chiang Mai Thailand Hotel for five years. During her time in Thailand she embraced the local culture and flavors, infusing her creations with a rich tapestry of influences.

In 2018 Zulal decided to make Australia her home. Her dream of sharing her love for artisanal chocolates, delectable cakes and irresistible sweets with the people of Melbourne from her very own store became a reality in December 2023 when she established Zu-licious Cakes & Sweets. Today her creations reflect a lifetime of dedication to the art of baking and chocolate-making, and she invites you to enjoy the magic in every bite.
